Our guides will pick you up at approxymately 9:00 a.m. either directly from your establishment or at a meeting point that is easier for you.
A long and lovely hike on Etna park and a first chance to know Etna’s most important volcanic and botanic features of the highest volcano of Europe, amid various lava flows, lava caves and Etna’s endemic plants which grow on its steep sandy flanks. We will be able to see the so-called ‘’ bottoniera ‘’, a sequence of craters in line located in the area of the lava flows.
We will stop to admire the fracture of the earth caused by the earthquakes and the eruption, and a breathtaking view from the sea to the mountain, with fabulous phototaking opportunities.We will then visit a lava tube. With protective helmets and torches, inside we will see all the typical characteristics of a lava tunnels and the traditional use of grottos and the legends related to them will be explained.
Lunch break in a mountain refuge tasting the typical products of Etna with appetizer and first course. After lunch, we will visit the lava flow of 2002, which destroyed the ski resorts and threatened the neighboring villages. Finally, on the way back we will stop at a honey producer for a quick tasting.
