EXCURSION DISCLAIMER
Our guides will pick you up at approximately 9:00 a.m. either directly from your establishment or at a meeting point that is easier for you, for a day of exploration of Mount Etnaand environs, travelling into the heart of the countryside crossing local villages and fertile fields of hazelnuts and vineyards.
Journey from the base of Europe’s largest active volcano, across roads lined with the remains of black lava from past eruptionsand continue up to the laterals craters at 6000 feet above sea level for an incredible view over the Gulf of Catania and surroundinglands.
We will then visit a lava tube. With protective helmets and torches, inside we will see all the typical characteristics of a lava tunnels and the traditional use of grottos and the legends related to them will be explained.
The excursion Continue through the countryside to a Sicilian winery that takes advantage of the lava rich soil and high altitude to produceone of the best wines all around. Enjoy a visit of the winery and learn about their winemaking techniques, then have a guided tastingaccompanied by locally produced cheeses, salami, vegetables and pasta.

of side craters turned off at 2000

● Visit to a lava flow cave.
● Stop in an ancient lava flow now cooled.
